TNT!MEN sponsors a variety of naked
social events for its members, such as house parties, brunches, and camping.
We also organise events, like swim nights, bar nights and picnics,
that are open to everyone.
TNT!MEN welcomes new members of
all ages, races, shapes and sizes. If you are interested in joining, send us e-mail and we'll s-mail
you an application form. In the future we may have the application form more
readily available online.
TNT!MEN started in February
1997 with over 50 members, and has grown to well over 300 in the years
since. We have members from all over the world, but most are in the
southern Ontario region.
TNT!MEN is also actively
working to make Toronto a nudist-friendly city. Besides participating
each year in the Lesbian and Gay Pride festivities, we have also
successfully campaigned to create a legal clothing-optional beach in Toronto.
Hanlan's Point Beach has been
legally nude since May of 1999.
Here are some things you should know about the group and how it works:
What is TNT!MEN?
TNT!MEN is a social group for men who
like to get naked with other men.
What does TNT!MEN do?
TNT!MEN organises a wide variety of naked social
events. Some of its events are for members only, but many of them are open
to all men who are willing to get naked with us and abide by its guidelines.
TNT!MEN holds many indoor events, such as naked
bar nights, house parties, coffee nights, brunches, potluck dinners, and
so on. TNT!MEN also organises outdoor events as well, including days at
the beach, camping trips, and visits to nudist clubs.
What kind of men are in TNT!MEN?
Although most of its members are gay or bisexual,
TNT!MEN does not exclude men based on their sexual orientation. Because
alcohol is served at some TNT!MEN events, members must be 19 years or
older.
TNT!MEN has members of all ages, races, shapes,
and sizes, and welcomes all men who are willing to abide by its guidelines
to participate.
Membership Fee
TNT!MEN annual dues are $20 per person, for
the period from July 1st to June 30th. Memberships are renewed each July.
In addition, there is a small fee at many of its events (typically $4 for
members and $6 for non-members) to help defray the costs of that event.
TNT!MEN is a not-for-profit incorporated organisation.
Your membership fee pays for:
the Info Hotline, which is accessible 24 hours
a day, 7 days per week,
the calendar, which comes out 6 times a year
the newsletter, which comes our 6 times each
year
the Membership Directory, which comes out twice
per year
the printing and mailing costs of
your official TNT!MEN membership card
plus the assorted costs of running an organisation like this.
Organising TNT!MEN
All members are invited to take an active role in leading
the group by attending the Planning Meetings. The dates and locations of
Planning Meetings are given on the Info Line and web pages,
and in the Calendar when possible.
Hosting Events
Most TNT!MEN events are hosted by TNT!MEN members.
Everyone who is interested in hosting an event is encouraged to do so.
TNT!MEN can provide assistance in planning, setting up, and running the
event.
Attending Events
In order to attend most events, everyone must
call the TNT!MEN Hotline first to reserve a space. You will generally
pay a small fee ($3 to $5) to attend each event, in order to reimburse
the host for whatever refreshments are provided. When the space is rented,
the fee will be correspondingly larger. Any money collected in excess of
the host's expenses will go to TNT!MEN to pay for administrative costs.
Event Guidelines
The host of each event gets to set the rules regarding:
the type of event (i.e. brunch, potluck, party, etc.)
who can attend (i.e. members only, members and their guests, or everyone)
the number of people who can attend
smoking (i.e. smoking anywhere, in certain rooms only, or outdoors
only)
drinking (i.e. alcohol will be served, BYOB, or no alcohol)
etc.
The host is requested to specify these beforehand, so that appropriate
indications can be made in the calendar of events.
At most private events, members and guests are
expected to sign in when they arrive. Guests who attend more than one event
are expected to join TNT!MEN.
Bring a towel and bag
Experienced nudists always have a towel on hand
to sit on. You should bring a towel to all TNT!MEN events, and bring a
bag to store your clothing in. You may prefer to leave valuables at home.
Photography
People are welcome to bring cameras to TNT!MEN
events, but they must announce that they are taking photos, and they must
get permission from the people they are photographing, include people in
the background, before they take any pictures. Photographs of members are
for private and group use only. Violating photography rules can result
in loss of membership.
The telephone information line lists all of
TNT!MEN's upcoming events. To keep up to date on upcoming events, please check
it frequently, especially the "late breaking news" (option 4).
You can leave messages by selecting option 8 at any time.
A newsletter and/or calendar is printed every now and then, approximately
six times per year. Please send articles, editorials, reviews, suggestions,
letters to the editor, photographs, and art-work to
Spike.
For suggestions on what to write, see the
TNT!MEN Newsletter Submission Guidelines.
For previous issues, see the TNT!MEN Exposed
Archive. For our mandate, see the
Newsletter Collective Bylaws.
Behaviour
Please act responsibly at all events. Alcohol and drug abuse is
prohibited, and could result in loss of membership. Get permission
from people before "invading their personal space." Treat
the host's home with the utmost respect. Individuals are personally
responsible for any loss or damage they might cause.
Liability Waiver
Guests are responsible for the safety of their own belongings.
TNT!MEN cannot assume any responsibility or liability for missing or
damaged goods. It is probably safest not to bring valuables to
TNT!MEN events.
The TNT!MEN
Board of Directors
TNT!MEN is lucky to have the following
men as their Board of Directors:
