An article appeared in the 9 July 1998 issue of Eye Magazine by Nate Hendly called Kyle Rae's Naked Ambition. It talks about the efforts by Kyle, some other city councillors, and groups like TNT!MEN, to have some of the Toronto beaches declared legally clothing-optional. It's a good article, and quotes our delightful Events Coordinator Gary Prudence a fair bit.
This article, coupled with the recent appearance in the Globe and Mail by our Treasurer Richard Westgate, and our Secretary and Legal Council Peter Simm, shows just how much of an impact we nudists are having on this great city of ours. While it's true that social nudity is about recreation and isn't quite as important as feeding the hungry and caring for the sick, I do believe that the openness and self-confidence that it builds have can important benefits for everyone who participates, and will help to make this community and this city a nicer place for everyone.
