At 6:50 (approximately) am on Friday 23 April 1999, Peter Simm will be discussing our Hanlan's Point initiative on CBC Radio 1 (in Toronto, that's AM 740 and FM 99.1). If you happen to be up then, why not tape it and send us a copy? If I manage to get a tape, I'll put a transcript online for you to read.
And later that same morning, both Peter Simm and I will be making (short) presentations to the Economic Development Committee of Toronto City Council on the Hanlan's Point initiative. It's a public meeting, so you are welcome to attend: it's at the "new" Toronto City Hall (the one with the hamburger in the middle), in Meeting Room 1. Come on out and lend us some moral support and encouragement!
There's a couple of stories about TNT!MEN in the current issue of Xtra Magazine. One of them is on Hanlan's Point, and you can find it online at http://www.xtra.ca/site/toronto2/news/body4.shtm. Both of them are quite good. Feel free to write to Xtra to let them know you support their positive coverage of nudists in Toronto.
And earlier this week, on Monday, the Q Files (a queer life show on the new news cable channel CP24 (Cable Pulse Channel 24), which is owned by CityTV), quoted part of a letter I wrote, asking them when they were going to do a story on the incredibly busy gay nudist community here in Toronto. In typical Q Files fashion, they instead did a story on whether or not they should do stories on controversial and explicit stories, including nudism. They have a poll online. Check them out and let them know that you support coverage of all aspect of queer life, including our naked bodies.
