Biggest Hallowe'en Dance Ever!
(31 Oct 1999)Over 200 men enjoyed our naked Hallowe'en Dance yesterday. That's our second biggest T-Dance this year, after our record-breaking Pride dance with about 380 men! We had a great time yesterday, and a lot of creative thought went into some of the outfits. One of them is shown here, inspired by Kurt Russell in Backdraft.
Church Street was buzzing last night, but tonight was the main party. The street was closed to traffic, and thousands of people came out to show off their fabulous outfits and to check out the competition. It was the warmest Hallowe'en that I can remember, which certainly was a nice change!
The Rainbow Lions Club arranged for a stage to be set up on Church Street, and a variety of performers entertained us for several hours. There was even a short parade, led by the ROTC (Righteously Outrageous Twirling Corps) who looked very smart in their matching outfits and performed with military precision.
For me, the most fun part of the evening was meeting all sorts of old friends that I haven't seen since Pride Day. I didn't dress up, but my friends did, and I might put some photos of those online when I finally get them processed. (If anyone has an old digital camera they'd like to donate to a good cause....)
