Barn Trial Set for June 1st (12 Jan 2001)

Gentlemen,

Late yesterday afternoon, Andrew Czernik finally called me (after I
left a message a day for several days), and we had a brief conversation
terminated by the early arrival of his next appointment.

The new trial date has been set. It is . . . wait for it (literally
and figuratively) . . . June 1, 2001.  (I thought I should specify
the year, just to avoid possible confusion.)

Bleah.

The good news is that Czernik wasn't aware of the Central Hotel
decision until I faxed it to him. That means, presumably, that he
has not yet forwarded a copy to the Crown. In other words, there is
still a significant chance that the Crown will drop the charge on
the basis of the Central Hotel case when they finally see it.

Yay.
