Webmaster Fired? (Nov 19, 2003)

Those of you who have come to depend on my TNT!MEN web site over the years may share my sadness in hearing that the "board of directors" of TNT!MEN voted at their last meeting to start over and create their own website. They promise many things, but basically plan to reproduce (or perhaps steal?) much the same content.

The only reason they have given is that they want to have complete editorial control. I really don't understand this at all. Every previous board was pleased with my work, and grateful for the time and energy I put into it. My TNT!MEN site is one of the most successful gay nudist pages on the net, with over 13,000 hits a day. Since I first started it back in 1995 for the previous group TCAN, I have had no complaints from the public, TNT!MEN members, or even the current board.

The current board of TNT!MEN, like all previous boards, is self-appointed, in that there were not enough candidates to actually conduct an election. Basically, any member who wants to can volunteer for the board at the right time of year, and they are automatically on. This board has already "lost" three of it's members, who were unhappy with the way things were being handled. They have made a number of very serious changes to the group, and have not consulted the members on these decisions. But as they are the ones who took the responsibility, it is their job to see that the group continues to grow and thrive. No doubt they think they are acting in the best interests of the group. Only time will tell.

As all members of the current board know, I have always invited board input and contributions to this website, and have always been open to their requests for changes. I have no idea why they are really doing what they are doing, but I wish them the best of luck with their new endeavour.

I plan to continue with this site, and hope that when the next board installs itself in September 2004, they will be a bit easier to work with. :-)
